YM Tengku Dato' Paduka Noor Zakiah Bte Tengku Ismail was formerly the Executive Chairman of K & N Kenanga Holdings Berhad and was re-designated as Non-Executive Chairman of K & N Kenanga Holdings Berhad on 31 January 2010. She was appointed to the Board of Directors on 22 July 1996.

She was the co-founder of Kenanga Investment Bank Berhad in 1973 and has been the major shareholder since the company was incorporated. Prior to this, she was a partner in a stockbroking firm, Hallam & Co.

She was the first lady member of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad in 1964 and has over 40 years experience in the securities industry. She was one of the founders of the Association of Stockbroking Companies Malaysia (ASCM) and appointed as President of the Association, a post she held until 1994 when she became its chairperson. She retired as Chairperson in 1997 and was made a Life Advisor to the Association.



Encik Abdul Aziz Bin Hashim is Deputy Chairman of K & N Kenanga Holdings Berhad. He was appointed to the Board of Directors on 22 July 1996.

He is a Barrister-at-law from the Middle Temple, United Kingdom.

He joined Kenanga Investment Bank Berhad as shareholder and Executive Director in 1979. He retired from his executive position in 2004 and was redesignated as Non-Executive Deputy Chairman of the Group. Prior to joining K & N Kenanga Holdings Berhad, he worked as Company Secretary in Majlis Amanah Rakyat from 1960 to 1972. From 1972 to 1975, he was a partner in Hj. Ariffin & Co. and subsequently became a Dealer in Charles Bradburne (1930) & Co Sdn Bhd from 1975 to 1976. He assumed the position of General Manager and Dealer in the stockbroking firm, Razak & Ramli from 1976 to 1979. He had served as a Member of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad Committee for a year in 1984.



YM Raja Dato' Seri Abdul Aziz Bin Raja Salim was appointed as Independent Non-Executive Director of K & N Kenanga Holdings Berhad on 26 July 1996.

He is an Honorary Fellow of the Malaysian Institute of Taxation, Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants, United Kingdom, Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), United Kingdom and a Chartered Accountant (Malaysia).

He served as Director General of Inland Revenue Malaysia from 1980 to 1990 and Accountant General Malaysia from 1990 to 1994. After his retirement from the Government service, he was appointed as Chairman of BSN Commercial Bank (M) Berhad from 1995 to 1999. He was a Board Member of several Government agencies and organisations as well as Deputy Chairman of the Employees Provident Fund and Deputy Chairman of the University Pertanian Council. Raja Dato’ Seri Abdul Aziz was the President of CIMA, Malaysia from 1976 to 1993 and a council member of CIMA, United Kingdom from 1990 to 1996. He was awarded the CIMA Gold Medal in recognition of his outstanding service to the Accounting Profession. He has been a council member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) since 1998. He sits on many MIA committees and is presently the Chairman of its committee on Internal Audit. At present he is also the Chairman of Amanah Saham Mara Berhad, and Gran Asia Corporation Berhad.

YM Raja Dato’ Seri Abdul Aziz also sits on the boards of other public companies, namely Jerneh Asia Bhd Group, Camerlin Group Bhd, Tasek Corporation Berhad, Southern Steel Bhd, Gamuda Berhad, Matsushita Electric Company (M) Berhad, Amanah Saham MARA Bhd, Panasonic Manufacturing Malaysia Berhad, PPB Group Berhad, Hong Leong Industries Berhad, Kenanga Investment Bank Berhad and Kenanga Fund Management Berhad.



Datuk Syed Ahmad Alwee Alsree (“Datuk Syed Ahmad”) was appointed as Non-Independent Non-Executive Director of K & N Kenanga Holdings Berhad as a nominee of Cahya Mata Sarawak Berhad (“CMS”) on 28 August 2009.

Datuk Syed Ahmad graduated with a Bachelor of Law (LL.B) from the National University of Singapore, and practised law in Singapore for over 10 years prior to joining CMS in February 2004 as Group General Manager – Human Resources. He was appointed as Deputy Group Managing Director of CMS in September 2006, and subsequently re-designated as Group Executive Director in August 2008.

Datuk Syed Ahmad’s other directorships in public companies include CMS Trust Management Berhad, CMS I-Systems Berhad, UBG Berhad, KKB Engineering Berhad and Loh & Loh Corporation Berhad.



YB Dato’ Richard Alexander John Curtis was appointed as Non-Executive Director to the Board of Directors on 29 September 2006.

He is the Group Managing Director of CMS Berhad. Dato' Richard graduated with a Bachelor of Law (LL.B.) (Honours) degree from University of Bristol, UK and is a Sloan Fellow of London Business School. He was admitted as a solicitor working initially with top international law firm, Norton Rose, in London and latterly in-house with Jardine Matheson & Co. in Hong Kong. He was then attached to the Jardine Offshore Group in postings to Singapore and Indonesia to oversee the group's offshore oil operations.

He has also operated in his own businesses in retail, consultancy, and construction. More recently, he held the position of Chief Executive Officer of The Melium Group, a leading Malaysian retail company and F&B chain operator.

He currently sits on the Boards of K&N Kenanga Holdings Berhad and several private limited companies. He is also a Trustee of Yayasan Raja Muda Selangor.



Luigi Fortunato Ghirardello was appointed to the Board of K & N Kenanga Holdings Berhad as Non-Executive Director on 15 February 2006.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Sydney, Australia. He is also a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia, Australia.

He was the Head of Global Finance, Asia Pacific, Deutsche Bank AG, Singapore, a position he held since May 2004 to April 2008. His role encompasses the management of Short Term Interest Rate Trading (STIRT) in Asia, an integrated short-term trading unit combining foreign exchange and money market products. In addition, he is also responsible for interest rate trading in money markets/repo and cash products and liquidity management in Japan and Australia. He also has regional responsibility for the Global Exchange Services platform in Asia Pacific.

Prior to taking up his current position in May 2004, he was Global Head of Money Markets Trading and Securities based in London as well as Deputy Chairman of the Global Markets Risk Committee. Before joining Deutsche Bank in 1995, he was an Associate Director and Trading Manager at Schroders Australia Ltd and held various senior positions at National Australia Bank.



Kevin How Kow was appointed as Independent Non-Executive Director of K & N Kenanga Holdings Berhad on 4 February 2005.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales and a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants, the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore.

He was made a partner of Ernst & Young, Malaysia in 1984. He had served as the partner-in-charge of its offices in Sabah and Sarawak and later from 1996 onwards as the partner-in-charge of its practice in Sabah and Labuan until his retirement on 31 December 2003.

Kevin’s other directorships in public companies include Cahya Mata Sarawak Berhad, Sabah Development Bank Berhad, Saham Sabah Berhad, CMS I-Systems Berhad, Sarawak Cable Berhad and Kenanga Investment Bank Berhad.



Izlan Bin Izhab was appointed to the Board of K&N Kenanga Holdings Berhad as Independent Non-Executive Director on 20 October 2008.

He holds a Bachelor of Laws from University of London, United Kingdom and a graduate in Advance Management program from University of Hawaii, United States of America.

He was attached to the Majlis Amanah Rakyat as Assistant Legal Officer from 1973 to 1975. He then joined Kompleks Kewangan Malaysia as Joint Company Secretary from 1975 to 1978. He had served as the Company Secretary in Permodalan Nasional Berhad from 1978 to 1984. He was Executive Vice President, Corporate and Legal Affairs in Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange in 1985 till 2000.

He also sit on the Board of Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad Group, Box-Pak (Malaysia) Berhad, N2N Connect Berhad, OSK-UOB Unit Trust Management Berhad, CIMB Aviva Takaful Berhad, CIMB Aviva Assurance Berhad, O & G Equities Berhad, Bank Perusahaan Kecil & Sederhana Malaysia Berhad (SME Bank) and Kenanga Investment Bank Berhad.



Ismail Harith Merican was appointed to the Board of Kenanga Holdings as Non-Executive Director on 15 April 2010.

He obtained his Bachelor of Arts Degree in History in 1973. He then proceeded to do the I.C.A.E.W. articleship from 1973 to 1978 at Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. in London, United Kingdom. Subsequently, from 1978 to 1980, Encik Ismail Harith became employed by The Economist Newspaper Ltd as the assistant accountant.

In 1980, he commenced his involvement in the investment industry when he was trained and worked with Strauss Turnbull & Co., a firm of stockbrokers in London. He was with the firm until 1983. He was employed by K & N Kenanga Bhd (Stockbrokers) (now known as Kenanga Investment Bank Berhad) from 1983 to 1990 and the last position he held was a Bursa Securities Dealer’s Representative (Institutions & International).

Ismail Harith subsequently joined Straits Securities Sdn Bhd in 1990 as a shareholder, managing director and a Bursa Securities Dealer’s Representative.

Ismail Harith also represented Rashid Hussein Berhad, the holding company of Straits Securities Sdn Bhd, as a corporate representative until he left Straits Securities Sdn Bhd in 1997.

From 1998 to-date, he is an investor in quoted securities and properties. He is currently a director of ISS Servis System Sdn Bhd, a company involved in industrial cleaning, and the managing director of Zubaimas Realty Sdn Bhd, a property holding company.
