RM1.35 billion Sukuk Murabahah Issuance by Prasarana

Prasarana Malaysia Berhad (Prasarana) has successfully made another issuance of RM1.35 billion in nominal value recently from two different programmes i.e. RM650.0 million from the RM10.0 billion Sukuk Murabahah Programme and RM700.0 million under its RM2.0 billion Sukuk Murabahah Programme (Sukuk Programmes). Both of the Sukuk Programmes are irrevocably and unconditionally guaranteed by the Government of Malaysia.

Despite the volatile market condition due to the COVID-19 outbreak, Kenanga Investment Bank Berhad (KIBB) commendably carried out its role in the private placement process amid the challenging economic landscape and was instrumental towards the success of this transaction.

The transaction was successfully closed on 13 March 2020 via private placement. The proceeds from the issuance will be utilized to finance, amongst others, construction costs of the Light Rail Transit Line 3 (LRT 3) and working capital of Prasarana.

Kenanga Investment Bank Berhad is the Joint Lead Manager for the Sukuk Programmes
