1. Why is Kenanga Investment Bank Berhad (“KIBB”) embarking on
this exercise?

KIBB has been continuously improving its equity broking business and operations, with a focus on digitalisation. As part of this strategy, we have developed systems and platforms that enable remisier mobility and streamline sales support and back-office services.

Despite the branch closure, KIBB will continue to maintain and expand its business presence in this location. The remisiers and clients of the affected branch will continue to be effectively served via our Remisier Portal and Electronic Trading Platform. Our remisiers will utilise the mobility platform and may remain physically in the location to serve their clients.

2. My branch is affected. What will happen to my account with that branch?

You will be notified of the automatic transfer of your account to the Receiving Branch. Your trading account, share portfolio and trust monies will continue to use the same account number to avoid any confusion or interruption.

Further details are as follows: –

  1. Trading Account:

    Your account will be transferred automatically to the Receiving Branch. You do not need to go to the Receiving Branch, and no action is required from you for this account transfer. You may contact the Receiving Branch for any further enquiries.

  2. CDS Account:

    No action is required from you.

  3. Settlement:

    Settlement services will remain uninterrupted despite the closure of the originating branch. There is no change to the banking accounts. You can continue to receive and make payments from/to your bank account with KIBB.

3. Will my trading be affected?

No. There will be no interruption to stock trading or support services. You can continue to place trade orders through your respective Remisier/Dealer, who will continue to serve you via electronic means and phone. You may also contact your Receiving Branch for assistance, if required.

4. I have outstanding/pending requests with a branch that is affected. What will happen to my request?

Outstanding or pending requests will be attended to without interruption by your Remisier and the Receiving Branch.
