KUALA LUMPUR, 28 SEPTEMBER 2023 – Y.M. Tan Sri Dato’ Paduka Tengku Noor Zakiah Tengku Ismail, Founder Emeritus and Adviser of Kenanga Investment Bank Berhad (“Kenanga”), recently marked her 97th birthday in the warm company of close family members and dear friends.

The celebratory dinner took place at the Four Seasons Hotel in Kuala Lumpur and was graced by the esteemed presence of Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Raja Muda Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Ibni Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail.

Among the distinguished guests were Y.M. Tan Sri Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah and YBhg. Tan Sri Dato’ Azman Hashim, among others, who added to the joyous atmosphere of the evening.

The celebration featured captivating performances by Malaysia’s renowned vocalist, Dayang Nurfaizah, and the virtuoso violinist Dennis Yeoh. In a touching gesture of goodwill, Y.M. Tan Sri Tengku Noor Zakiah was presented with a painting drawn by Yang Berbahagia Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz. This artwork had been acquired by Kenanga through a recent charity auction organised by the Society of the Severely Mentally Handicapped Selangor and Federal Territory (“SSMH”) and Free Food Society. The funds raised from this charity event will support the rehabilitation of children and youths with severe mental and physical challenges at SSMH, while the Free Food Society, another beneficiary, aims to provide food aid to diverse communities, regardless of race, creed, or religion.

Throughout the past decades, Y.M. Tan Sri Tengku Noor Zakiah has dedicated her professional career to the securities industry. Her historic journey began in 1964 when she became the first female member of the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (formerly the Stock Exchange of Malaysia and Singapore). In 1973, she founded K & N Kenanga Sdn Bhd, which later evolved into Kenanga Investment Bank Berhad. This year, Kenanga proudly celebrated its 50th anniversary in June, a testament to the institution’s enduring legacy and reputation.
